Gates open at 12pm for BBQ and warm up.
Marshalling will commence at 1245pm for a prompt 1pm start.
Please don’t be late as we will not hold back the commencement of the races for latecomers.
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters in each event, which will be presented during the afternoon.
Championships are run as YEAR OF BIRTH not age on the day.
Events are run as timed finals. To avoid disappointment, it is a good idea to explain to your children that even though they may have placed in their heat, there may be faster swimmers in other heats so we need to wait until the final results to know who has won. Please do not let your children approach the medal table prior to the results being announced – it makes that job particularly difficult when you are swamped with children who are all declaring themselves the winner ? Obviously it is disappointing for kids if they don’t place but we really want everyone to come along and aim for their season best time regardless of where it places them.
We will not be running canteen all afternoon as we like everyone to have the opportunity to see their children compete.
BBQ will run from 12-1pm and then canteen will sell drinks and lollies/chips until we run out – being end of season we are not restocking items in the canteen.
If you find that you can’t make it on the day, or need to leave early, please email us or call me (0434978970) asap (or see Kelly in marshalling) so we can amend the race schedule. In previous years we have had children competing in races on their own because people have not shown up or let us know they are not finishing the carnival and we can’t fix the races on short notice. So please let us know so we can be fair to everyone.
